Hot off the heels of our recent party with Specter and Jackee, the Tribute crew will be bringing in the new year at La Cheetah alongside a formidable line up of Djs from around the world.
We will be going head to head with This is Our House upstairs in Max’s with members from both crews battling it out with assorted disco weapons. Expect house, techno, electro and other random nonsense. Adding a bit of class will be acid veteran Neville Watson. Neville has been Djing since the 1980s and memorably tore La Cheetah apart when he visited Slabs of Tabernacle last year. Neville is a man who knows how to get that funk out of those machines and his acidic, jackin co-productions with Kink have introduced Neville to a new generation of music lovers in recent years.
Downstairs the Monox boys return to La Cheetah to provide warm up duties for TLR, Mr Pauli and Patrice Scott. Like Neville Watson, both Mr Pauli & DJ TLR have been Djing for more than 20 years. TLR’s Crème Organisation has become one of the world’s most respected underground labels, realising slab after slab of mind-expanding electronic funk. Mr Pauli has been releasing music since the mid 90s and his italo indebted electro sounds can be found on label’s like Clone & David Vunk’s Moustache records.
The night’s headline slot goes to Detroit’s Patrice Scott. Many of you would’ve heard Patrice spin earlier this year at Stay Plastic and will know he’s man who takes his craft seriously. His pristine productions acknowledge his home town heritage, whilst taking the city’s techno sound in to deeper, previously unexplored places/spaces. Like many of his Detroit peers, Patrice knows how to rock a party, keeping the girls move whilst dropping more cerebral jams for the heads.
Entry to both upstairs & downstairs will be just £10. You may wonder how La Cheetah can viably put on such a fine selection of DJs at Hogmanay for such a low door tax – but fuck it, let them worry about that and we’ll concentrate on having a good time.
For those of you with the required stamina there will also be some after party action at a secret venue. Ask us on the night for details.
Tickets are now available both at Max’s bar and on-line at the Max’s website!
